Warren I have a John Gowling (Goulding) Born 23 Mar 1779 in Newbiggin, Died 30th Jan 1857 in Bongate Appleby, son of Thomas Gowling (Goulding) 1752-1821 Newbiggin, he married Ann Hetherington first then later married Margaret Steel who is my line. That line of Steels come from the Crackenthorpe, Bongate area. Can't actually tie them to Newbiggin hall though.
