Hello, Having hit the proverbial 'brick wall' -I'm working sideways to try and get a break through! I have two marriage certificates and do not recognise the witness names at all. 1) June 1903: John ALLEN (my great uncle) married Julia JONES at Birmingham Register Office. Witnesses were: William James SCRANNAGE and Nellie FOSTER 2) August 1941: Nellie ALLEN (my great aunt) married Victor Herbert HAWKINS at St Paul's Church, Bordeseley Green. Witnesses were: Edith May NORRIS and Cyril Robert SHERVINGTON. For some reason Victor's father is not named on the marriage certificate, only referred to as 'deceased'.
