Hello, I can tell you he married Mary Ann Berry and he is a rellie of mine. Smalleys round Birmingham ( who seemed to migrate from Leicestershire are variously spelt Smalley/Smawley...and probably started in Lancashire where there are of that name) From what I can gather they did not have children but did have the Paynes around at various census. David is my second Gt Grand uncle. I am sorry to say I havent been following your Blinko line. Hope this all helps though Jilly RaKay Dance <rakaydance@hotmail.com> wrote: I finally found another link to my mystery family. I found my Elizabeth Clarissa BLINKO's sister Mary Ann married a David SMAWLEY. This was registered in the West Bromwich district. Is this close to Aston? Also in the 1851 Census they have a Sophia PAYNE who is a nurse child 1 year of age, and a Emma PAYNE who is a servant/nurse 13 years old. Can anyone explain who these children might be? It doesn't appear that David and Mary Ann had children--at least any that where with them at this time. Any suggestions?? This is wonderful. I had found a David Smawley that married a Mary Berry and wondered if it was the same one. Did she die early? I have him marrying Mary Ann Blincks (Blinko) in Sept quarter 1840. He was 11 years older that my Mary Ann Blinko. Do you have a birth date for him? How about parents (I asume that William was his father). Where exactly was he born? Did he have children with either wife?? I would love any other information you might have. Thanks for anything you can offer.
