    3. Kia Ora Peter I like most of the ideas behind the explanation given by Mike but may I suggest yet another set of possibilities? 1.Ezekiel may be the son of another daughter (who may have married someone else, be away working or just visiting on the night or emigrated!) and left Ezekile to be cared for by the family. 2. Ezekiel may be the son of a son (whose wife was ill, having another baby and perhaps later died, working elsewhere or had emigrated!) He might have been born anywhere! 3. There is a Thomas Chinn baptised 4 November 1820 at Spernall War to a William & Elizabeth - was he a sibling? Harriet appears to have been born 5 June 1824 & baptised 27 May 1825 at St Phillips. At St Phillips there were several CHINN families having children baptised around that decade, including William & Elizabeth, William & Ann, Joseph & Jane, Henry & Ann. You really need to follow all these families to check if they appear to have a relationship beyond St Phillips. 4. Unless Harriet was an only child there might be a family of 10-12 siblings lurking around somewhere! At 26 she is still living at home with no other siblings listed. I would suggest the 1841 census entry for this family would be crucial. 5. Most critical would be Ezekiel's birth cert which appears to be registered as William Ezekiel Chinn Sept 1850 16/408. 6. Harriet appears to have married either William Binion or Richard Mealey Mar Qtr 1858 in Birmingham 6d/141 but Ezekiel is apparently not with them in 1861. Someone may be able to help with the 1871 census which I don't have. Hope the ideas help!
