Hi I have noted a marriage Mar Qtr 1907 6d/286 /Aston /of Arthur Harry Stephens. It looks as if he married Lucy ATTWOOD, Jane HOWARD, Leah KELLY or Dorris RYAN (the latter might be a male). Can anyone advise on the female to whom Arthur married or eliminate one or two?? A DAISY M. STEPHENS was born to a Stephens father & Attwood mother in Evesham in Sept Qtr 1911. Is anyone researching this family? Were there other children? Alternatively can anyone who has visited B'ham Records office advise me if there is a list of marriages at B'ham Record Office? I have a vague memory of reading something about a Year 2000 project undertaken by students (?) Grateful for any advice - it's no fun going forwards! Cheers for the Season Marlene
Looking at the record at 200% I think it is a 6d 386 not 286. And NOTE he married at Aston. Although the front page says 286. Lucy Atwood is 6d 286 Also Jane Howard and the others BUT NOTE they are all Birmingham, not Aston as he is listed as. It is sad that had he married a few years later you might have got a spouse name. Did he have any children? The birth certificate would show a mother maiden name? Also a shame we do not yet have access to the 1911 census which undoubtably might help. I have found I think it is him on the 1901 census with a mother only living at 4 Carlton Road Age 22, (bicycle worker) and mother Sarah A Stephens age 48 widow. Sorry I cannot help anymore Michele On 25 Dec 2006, at 10:03, Marlene Shipman wrote: Hi I have noted a marriage Mar Qtr 1907 6d/286 /Aston /of Arthur Harry Stephens.
