Any possibility you might have an Emily EXON, whose maiden name might have been LEES because she had a niece that was living with her in 1901 by the name of Olive LEES - Emily ran a pubhouse Judy BC Canada ----Original Message Follows---- From: alan smith <alandpol@dircon.co.uk> Reply-To: eng-warks-birmingham@rootsweb.com To: eng-warks-birmingham@rootsweb.com Subject: [B'ham] Lees Date: Tue, 16 Jan 2007 15:03:36 +0000 Maybe when you are looking for LEES you will come across a family of that name in the Handsworth or Hockley area from around 1841. They were clockmakers and seem to have originated in Nineveh. There is a whole colony of clockmakers in that area and I can find no particular reason why that should be so does anyone know why they have should have sprung from there. regards alan smith _____________________________________________ Tracing Ancestors in Birmingham: http://www.bham.de/ Any problems, please contact the List Admin: ENG-WARKS-BIRMINGHAM-admin@rootsweb.com ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ENG-WARKS-BIRMINGHAM-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message _________________________________________________________________ Your Space.
