    3. Thanks James, My Brookes interest lies with George Brook(e)s who married Ann Millward Hawkes in 1821. I believe his parents may have been Seth Brooks and Maria. Ann was widowed in 1840 and always spelled her name as Brookes. Cheers, Doug. -- Doug Hawkes e-mail: dhawkes@ee.ryerson.ca > Hi Douglas, > I have always assumed that Mary died before 1861 as James is listed as a > widower in the Census. > Whilst checking through my research I found the search I did at St > Philip's for my James and found this which was of no use to me at the > time, baptism 11 FEb 1777 Ann daughter of Charles and Sarah BROOKES. > Hope this helps. > James > > Douglas Hawkes <dhawkes@ee.ryerson.ca> wrote: > Hi James, > > Was Mary alive when James died?
