Hello again, Thanks so much for all the assistance! Joseph Spencer's birth date came from the IGI as did those of MaryAnn and Joseph (Jnr). Maria's christening was 15/03/1828 at Bordesley according to the IGI. The other children came up in the 1841 census but their father was not present at that time.I've been told that they rounded the ages down to the nearest five years in 1841. I was not aware I could obtain a birth certificate for someone born in 1800. How can I find reference numbers for that period, please? What I have (from IGI) is Joseph b 31 Jan 1822 St Martins, Birmingham MaryAnn b. 25 November, 1825 St Martins Maria ch. 15 March 1828. Hope this may help and thanks again. Jan
