    2. Hi Reg, It looks as though Warstone Lane is a Cemetery and it used to have a chapel (demolished 1954) It looks like and interesting place. I might stop by there next time I'm near the Jewellery Q. See this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warstone_Lane_Cemetery Pam Reg Wesson wrote: >Could someone let me know what Church of England is on Warstone Lane, Birmingham. >Thanks >Reg >_____________________________________________ >Tracing Ancestors in Birmingham: >http://www.bham.de/ > >Any problems, please contact the List Admin: ENG-WARKS-BIRMINGHAM-admin@rootsweb.com >------------------------------- >To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ENG-WARKS-BIRMINGHAM-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > >

    3. There is a famous cemetery there, which had a chapel, now demolished. Have a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warstone_Lane_Cemetery If you put the location into Google maps, using the hybrid map/satellite feature you can see what it looks like now - no church there. 3. Reg, What was it you were after? Warstone Lane did not have a church, but there were (still are) two cemeteries, both with chapels. Warstone Lane cemetery was St Michael and all Angels, which closed in the mid-1950's and was demolished, and Key Hill Cemetery had its own chapel too, but demolished in 1966. St Michael's was used for a few years just as a church on its own. The others in the district were: St Paul's (As Wendy has already mentioned), All Saints, St George's and St Mark's. All within walking distance, although St Georges was slightly further away.
