    3. Hello again Gerry, The previously mentioned book contains a number of relevant pictures, mostly taken in the early part of the 20th century. Another photo depicts Small Heath and Sparkbrook railway station with a caption telling us "It was opened in 1863 by the Great Western Railway to serve the new BSA works and the growing population in both districts."
