    3. Hi, again, Lorraine, Let's see if I can help you again! This may be a bit difficult as in the 1841 census all ages were generally given to the nearest 5th year. i.e. If a person was 27 their age would be given as 25! With this in mind their year of birth may also be incorrect. Here is what I have found.   1851 Census  In the 1851 census the parents were living alone William    b. 1784 in Warrington, Lancashire - Pin  Maker Charlotte b. 1783 in Warwick, Warwickshire. Living at Court 6, Barn St., Birmingham The 2 daughters, Charlotte & Caroline had married into the Lucas family   There is a JOSEPH HARTLEY who I suspect may be the son for whom you are looking.   Joseph Hartley    b. 1813 Birmingham, Warwickshire -  Wine Drawer Elizabeth Hartley b. 1815 Birmingham George               b. 1842 Birmingham Elizabeth             b. 1844 Birmingham Sarah                  b.1846 Birmingham Charlotte             b.1848 Birmingham (Was she named after her grandmother & aunt?) I cannot find any reference in the 1851 census that could be remotely linked to the son William, but could this be him in the 1881 Census? William Hartley b.1826 Birmingham,Warwickshire - Boatman (Barge) Jane (Wife)       b.1819 Birmingham Joseph              b.1865 Birmingham (Named after his uncle?) Eliza Jane          b.1869 Aston, Birmingham Betsy                b.1872 Birmingham That is all I could find. I am afraid it is not very conclusive.   All the best from soggy Birmingham, England,   Chris Spreckley                  ----- Original Message ---- From: Lorraine <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, 6 September, 2008 1:32:57 Subject: [B'ham] 1851 Census lookup. HARTLEY Hi Everyone                     Hoping SKS has time to do a lookup. In the 1841 Census I have Joseph HARTLEY  B abt 1816 and also William HARTLEY B 1825 living with parents Birmingham Warwick, Sub District St Peters. I have no other information on these 2 boys, hoping they may be found in the 1851 census, There parents William and Charlotte where still in Warwickshire in 1851 I know this maybe very hard as I haven't got a marriage for either as the names are common, Thank you Lorraine Key Snowy Mountains _____________________________________________ _____________________________________________ Have you considered adding "postems" to "your" events on www.freebmd.org.uk , giving your contact details?  Other researchers will then be able to make contact.
