Does anyone know why the Birmingham suburb of Moseley is so named please? Jan
Jan, According to Carl Chinn Moseley in the Doomsday Book 1086 was recorded as MUSELEIE, but in 1221 noted as MOSELEGE. Experts say is arrives from 'MUS' - 'LEAH'. Possible meanings " a clearing infested with mice" apparently in Yardley one of the smallist fields was called "Mouse Park" and experts thinks this has something to do with it.
