There is a Joseph Onions, weaver, born in Coventry about 1801 on the 1841 and 1851 censuses , married to Sarah, silk winder. Address in 1841 looks like Well (?) Street Coventry, Civil Parish of Holy Trinity, address in 1851 is Hill Street Coventry, Civil Parish of St Michael. Could he be your man? Thanks, Tam. The Joseph I'm seeking was christened in St Martins, Birmingham and his parents were Simon and Ann Onions. He was most likely a Bellows Maker. Thanks, Tam, that's correct family alright. I can't seem to find him in any later census records, though. He was left a share in the family business when his Dad died in 1843 so would think he'd remain in Birmingham. A Genes Renited member claims to be his descendant but can't find the records to verify this. Thanks so much for your help, anyway.
