    3. This is it from this book apart from one for a John Bevington from Warwick which I don't have time to do now. In any case it is from the South Monthly Meeting in Warwick. Anyone interested email me and I'll do that one too sometime Ros A Testimony from the quarterly Meeting in Birmingham concerning Elizabeth Hands Elizabeth Hands, Wife of our worthy Friend John Hands of Warwick, was born on the 3rd Day of the Third Months 1667. Her Father and Mother were both convinced of the blessed Truth when she was very young; her Mother being soon removed by Death, her Father took Care to educate her in the Principles of Truth, which being attended with a steady walking in Faithfulness to the divine Discoveries made known to her, she was well esteemed when Young. In the year 1687 she was married to the aforesaid John Hands; and in the Year 1705 shge came forth in publick Ministry; in which she faithfully laboured, to the Exhoration, Edification and Comfort of the Church of Christ; and though she had a large Family was sometimes drawn forth, in the Love of Truth, to visit Friends in divers Parts of the Nation : And in her own Family was a good Example, not only of Frugality and Industry, for the Support of the same, as becomes the Professors of Truth, but also of Piety, Virtue and Zeal for the Promotion thereof. Her Stability, Patience and Cheerfulness, in the closest Exercises and Trials, were very remarkable. She was a true Sympathizer with those in Afflictions, and often visited such, both among Friends and other Societies, to great Satisfaction and Comfort. She was frequent in secret Retirement, and steady in waiting for the Renewal of Strength from above; exemplary in diligently attending Meetigns both for Worship and Discipline, in which she was not an indifferent or lukewarm, but a lively Member; and was often attended with Tokens of Fervency in Spirit, and of one travelling in the Deeps, even when bodily Weakness and Infirmities lay heavy upon her; which still encreasing, prevented her from going much abroad for some considerable Time before her last Illness, which she bore, about two Weeks, with much Fortitude of Mind, and Resignation to the divine Will, and was gathered like a Shock of Corn in due Season; and is, we doubt not, entered into the Mansions of eternal Rest and Bliss. She departed this Life the 2nd Day of the Third Month 1743, and was interred, the 5th of the same, in Friends Burying Ground in Warwick, in the Seventy fixth Year of her Age. A Minister about 38 Years.

    3. I am looking for some local knowledge please. I know St. Thomas-in-the-Moor was in Balsall Heath but what other churches may have been used by people living there? When did St. Thomas in the Moor move from Worcestershire to Warwickshire? Was it always classed as being in Birmingham or was it classed as being in Kings Norton and if so when did it move to Birmingham? Is the church referred to as St. Thomas on Family Search St. Thomas in the moors? Many thanks, Chris
