Ray Many thanks for the link to the Old Ladywood website. It may very well lead to more information about my grandfather's accident. It's a great website and may also help to fill several gaps in my family's history. Meanwhile it's really good to be reminded of old Ladywood. As a small child I used to visit my grand aunts and uncles in Alston Street and later I went to school at St Philip's, next door to the Oratory, on Hagley Road.
