    3. Hello everybody, I am new to researching in England. My ancestors came from Birmingham, however, before 1837, as follows: WEIR marriage of David and Martha in Birmingham c. 1829 (presumably in the parish Charles Street is in) WEIR birth of David Hugh Harrison in Birmingham 1830 (Charles St) WEIR birth of Alfred 25 Nov 1832 in St Thomas Birmingham Could someone advise please: 1. Which parish these events would have happened? 2. What detail ie likely to have been recorded? 3. Are we able to view these old parish record entries/ documents online and if so where? Any advice gratefully received. Many thanks Gary Weir -----Original Message----- From: [email protected]

    3. Hi Gary, 1. From your information it would seem that Alfred was born in the parish of St. Thomas. Have you searched the IGI for the births? 2. The parish register will show; Date of Baptism, Child's Christian name, possibly sex, probably date of birth, Parents Christian Names and Surname(s), Where the child lives (just the parish usually), Fathers profession, person who performed the ceremony. 3. Unfortunately I haven't found anywhere on line yet. Good luck, Chris -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Gary Weir Sent: 29 July 2008 18:49 To: [email protected] Subject: [B'ham] Look up please - WEIR Hello everybody, I am new to researching in England.
