Hi Dave, Thanks for the pointer, I am planning to make trip to England early next year, I will contact them to find out if they do look ups etc. Terry Rowan On Sunday, November 22, 2009, at 08:06PM, "David Carr" <carrspace@mac.com> wrote: >Terry >not certain where you are but school records are kept are in >Birmingham Central Library, you will need to request permission to >see them. > >Dave Carr > >http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/cs/Satellite?c=Page&childpagename=Lib- >Central-Archives-and-Heritage% >2FPageLayout&cid=1223092750842&pagename=BCC%2FCommon%2FWrapper%2FWrapper > > >On 22 Nov 2009, at 19:27, Terry Rowan wrote: > > >Good Evening All. >My interest in Birmingham and Warwickshire are; >Family Names: ALTMAN, STILL(S), PARKER - PALMER, LUFFMAN. 3. Terry I think the link on the page I sent you mentions Doreen Hopgood, the official genealogist who does research at £25 per hour, having said that you will probably enjoy it more doing it yourself. I live in Devon now and on the occasion I wanted to look up school records I had to fill out a form and I only got it returned with permission a few weeks later. This meant I was unable to look at the school records on the first occasion. For that reason it would be a good idea to get it sorted out before your trip . I find myself going back to Brum more and more often these days, a factor of age no doubt but I really enjoy it.
