Hi Nivard, Oh dear, I was overcome by the excitement! I didn't check dates because the rest all seemed to fit, Ann's mother was buried in the same cemetery and due to some of the names and address's fitting with the names/places I already have. I've jumped the gun and I've already written to the family..I suppose there still could be connection though so I won't give up hope just yet. My Anne was born 1906 Dublin and appears on the 1911 Kilkenny Irish census with mother Annie and father John. Ann's mother Annie died Birmingham 1914. I appreciate what you say regarding 'Ms' it was just the possibility she hadn't married. I use 'Ms' all the time I don't understand why we are asked if we are Miss, Mrs. or Ms............. a man isn't ever asked the same. Many thanks for bringing it to my attention. Jackie. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nivard Ovington" <ovington1@sky.com> To: <eng-warks-birmingham@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 26, 2009 11:02 AM Subject: Re: [B'ham] Birmingham Burials > Hi Jackie > > I don't like to rain on your parade but if the Anne you seek was born in > 1906 she would have been 92 in 1998 > > I know ladies can be frugal with the truth regarding their age but twenty > years does seem to be stretching it a little <g> > > The death for the 1998 is as follows > > Name: Anne Linehan > Birth Date: 18 Aug 1925 > Death Registration Month/Year: Jun 1998 > Age at death (estimated): 72 > Registration district: Birmingham > Inferred County: Warwickshire > Register number: I10B > District and Subdistrict: 0611I > Entry number: 286 > > Unfortunately there is no birth registration for an Anne LINEHAN anywhere > around 1925 which could mean she was born somewhere other than Eng/Wales > > The use of Ms does not necessarily mean she wasn't married either, plenty > use it although married or not > > There are many Anne LINEHAN events on recordsearch pilot in the Irish civil > registration indexes, have you explored those? > > There are also several marriages in the Ancestry marriage indexes for an > Anne LINEHAN > > Any idea when she came to England as she does not seem to appear in the 1911 > index > > Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > > > > >> Wow ! >> Mike, you're amazing! >> This could be the Anne Linehan I spent ages looking for, the fact she is >> Ms Linehan could indicate she wasn't married. >> I have her birth details born Dublin 1906 to John and Annie Linehan but >> any ideas of where I go from here? >> Kindest regards Jackie >> 29/6/1998 Ms Anne Linehan Burial Graveside(Re-Open) 72 Years 5 >> Daley Close Ladywood Birmingham Lodge Hill Cemetery (49-43406) > > _____________________________________________ > _____________________________________________ > > Research in Birmingham: http://www.bham.de/ > > Any problems, please contact the List Admin: ENG-WARKS-BIRMINGHAM-admin@rootsweb.com > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ENG-WARKS-BIRMINGHAM-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
