Annie Louise Pool born 1871 Warwickshire Parents Benjamin and Elizabeth.Pool Annie's death 1914 aged 49 yrs at the home of her sister and brother in law Mary and William Griffins 18 Wood St. Ladywood Birmingham. Annie was a musician. 1st marriage to Frederick Dowler, one daughter Bessie Mina. 2nd marriage John Linehan born 1871 Cork Ireland. Recently found Annie and John on the Irish 1911 census, shocked to find they had 2 daughters, Mina Linehan born 1897 England and Annie Lydia Linehan born 1906 Dublin. Found Annie's birth registration but cannot find anything for Mina's. Never heard mention of these 2 daughters before and obviously wondering what happened to them and John Linehan after Annie's death. Can anyone throw any light on this? Regards Jackie
Depending on the dates, could Mina Lineham be Bessie Mina Dowler, listed on the census with her stepfathers surname - not an uncommon occurrence. Hi Marlene, Good to hear from you, haven't been back to you as my young foster child has been very ill. I certainly did follow up. Young Annie's birth cert doesn't give any more details than I already had. Minnie Rose is not related, it's definitely Mina (name passed down through generations) Still not been able to get the Irish 1901 census, most of it is not on line but hopefully when I do get to see it, Bessie Mina will show up traveling with John and Annie Linehan and the young Mina. I've searched and put messages up on my Ancestry.co.uk and Genes reunited but nothing as yet for the two younger Linehan girls...there's a strong US connection so they may turn up there. I'm in contact with descendants of the Pool family from Warwick and Birmingham but none seem to have known anything about Annie Louise, she last turns up on the UK census 1891 living in a boarding house in Kingston Hull as a musician, Mini aged 4 years is with her. Very odd she married Frederick Dowler 1889 but in 1891 she is back to her surname of Pool as is Mina...I presume shortly after 1891 she met John Linehan and they moved to Ireland. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marlene Shipman" <marlene.s@xtra.co.nz> To: <eng-warks-birmingham@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, November 22, 2009 12:31 PM Subject: Re: [B'ham] Pool Warwickshire and Birmingham > Jackie I answered your query in full on 1 September 2009.
