Apologies for the delay in thanking you for the info. on possible street number changes in Birmingham since the mid-19th century. It has saved sending someone who was going to be in the area unnecessarily to take photos of the wrong addresses! Now another question. The directories at www.historicaldirectories.org while very useful and interesting list just businesses and the upper-classes. I'm assuming there's nothing (other than the censuses) which would list regular folks by the street? If it were a residential area, surely there would be no listing for that street in these directories. Ros
