Hello List I am running a family history workshop with a U3A group in Australia and one of the participants has a convict ancestor from Warwick who was transported here as a convict with the third fleet in 1791. His name was Henry Baldwin, he was transported on the BARRINGTON and we believe he was tried at the Warwick Assizes and sentenced to 7 years in NSW. My question is can anyone tell me if there are any online resources for researching the historic court records in Warwick and can anyone suggest any other resources for gathering further information about this man. I would be very grateful for any suggestions Thanks in advance Jan
Hi Jan try http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/Web/corporate/pages.nsf/Links/A98FD46D59E20E4F8025725D00318058 for a start off , if the link does not work put calendars of prisoners Warwickshire into Google you could also try the Birmingham History Forum http://forum.birminghamhistory.co.uk/ where there has been some discussion on the matter.
