Hi I am trying to find information on James Vaux born about 1800. He says on the 1851 census that he comes from Colshill, but I have been unable to find a christening there for him. He married a lady called Margaret Wheel born about 1796, Forthampton, Gloucestershire. She was married before she married james to a Mr Cox. I have not been able to find their marriage as yet and I do not know his first name. I do know that James and Margaret or Martha as she is known had a son William in Birmingham 1824. Any help would be gratefully recieved. Hi there Keri Have looked at the Forthampton records, and have found the following, which I hope will be of help 29/9/1793 Phoebe d/o James and Phoebe Weale 22/11/1795 James s/o/James and Maria Wheel 20/4/1800 Benjamin s/o/James and Maria Wheel 5/12/1802 Diana d/o/James and Maria Wheel 17/11/1805 Emanuel s/o/James and Maria Wheel 1/5/1808 Comfort d/o/ James and Maria Wheel 13/7/1820 Burial James Wheel aged 61 22/3/1822 Marriage William Freeman/ Maria Wheel (presumably the widow) Burial of James would relate to the folowing birth record, also in Forthampton 29/7/1759 James s/o/ John Weale and Martha his wife I have checked surrounding parishes and Forthampton appears to be the only one with Wheel records.
