    3. Kia Ora Jackie I think most of us are surprised to find how far and how often our ancestors travelled! Don't discount the family rumours there's usuallly an element of truth! I set up individual files for each individual with a piece of paper in the front with these headings Birth Baptism Marriage Death Burial Headstone Photos/Other Evidence As I gather the relevant info I mark it off! When someone asks "what do you want for Christmas?Birthday ? I look at my files and request a particular cert which I am missing! Otherwise I am constantly on the lookout for new info knowing excatly what I need! Other evidence includes Military Records, Court Appearances, Newspaper Clippings etc. Annie Linehan's death may have been noted in Brum newspapers if she was well known for example and you have a date which is very helpful. Frederick D may be on Immigration lists to the US or the 1890 census; if he had an accident it might well be reported - worth a look! Bessie Mina's baptism may have been at St James. When you have all the "evidence" you might be surprised at the level of accuracy of family memories even if some "porkies' have spread around the events over time!
