    3. Kia Ora Alwys helps if you give the list the best info you have. ANNIE LOUISE POOL was born Sept Q 1871 Birmingham 6d/23 In 1881 she is listed as the dau of Benjamin & Elizabeth Pool Annie is a scholar, her mother a dressmaker and her father a bedstead packer. Bessie Minna POOL was born Dec Q 1888 Birmingham 6d/23 Annie Louise POOL married Frederick DOWLER June q 1889 Aston. There's a death of a Frederick DOWLER aged 73 Dec Q 1889 Aston. Another Frederick DOWLER death in 1902 Aston aged 53? - perhaps she married a much older fellow? Also the death of an infant Frederick Dec Q 1893 Aston so perhaps they had a son who died young? Annie L died 1914 as ANNIE LINEHAN. Might this be a birth for Minna? MINNIE POOL Dec 1898 West Ham 4a/222? If you don't have the certs above I'd suggest you purchase - not only will it give you more accurate information there maybe additional information! Have you got the 1901 census? 3. Firstly many thanks to Lesley and Marlene, I've spent the last few hours in the loft going through an ever increasing amount of family history files. Lesley you're correct, it's definitely 18 Wood St Ladywood Birmingham 5th May 1914 on Annie Louise's death cert. W. Griffin nephew is said to have been present at death, he also gives the address as his own. Marlene, you've done so much, thank you so very much. You have definitely picked the correct Pool family. . . I do have Annie Louise's marriage cert. Frederick Dowler is aged 24 yrs and Annie 17 yrs. They married in St James Church Ashton but it actually looks like Ashted Warwick. They were both living at 18 Prospect Row at the time they married. Frederick is believed to have been Bessie Minna's father. Frederick's father was John Dowler a gold beater. the story goes that soon after they married Frederick went to America, soon after arriving he was knocked down and killed by a tram but I'm more inclined to think another red herring..there's so many used as cover up's within this family. Bessie Minna was born 3rd Dec 1888 Annie Louise was living at 52 Monument St. No father listed. Bessie Minna died Donegal 1967. None of her Irish family have any details of the Birmingham family but their well known Irish Showband 'The Sleive Foy' I believe frequently played in Birmingham during the 1950's and early 1960's. I do have the 1891 census and it's only Annie and Bessie Minna together living in Hull, no sign of Frederick and I cannot find them anywhere on the 1901 census so presume they were in Ireland with John Linehan..consequently the baby Frederick you mention is unlikely to be there's but worth investigating nevertheless. I will follow up your suggestion re birth of Minnie Pool West Ham. Many thanks Jackie. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marlene Shipman" <marlene.s@xtra.co.nz> To: <eng-warks-birmingham@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, August 31, 2009 3:34 PM Subject: Re: [B'ham] Pool Family Ladymead Birmingham > Kia Ora > Alwys helps if you give the list the best info you have. > ANNIE LOUISE POOL was born Sept Q 1871 Birmingham 6d/23 In 1881 she is > listed as the dau of Benjamin & Elizabeth Pool Annie is a scholar, her > mother a dressmaker and her father a bedstead packer. > Bessie Minna POOL was born Dec Q 1888 Birmingham 6d/23 > Annie Louise POOL married Frederick DOWLER June q 1889 Aston. > There's a death of a Frederick DOWLER aged 73 Dec Q 1889 Aston.
