Hi Tam Did you get the death certificates from Birmingham Register Office ? If not you should have , they have a resident genealogist ,John Yates, to help you get the correct certificate. See their website *http://tinyurl.com/kjhm87 , if that link does not work then google Birmingham Register Office genealogy. Mike Fisher in Droitwich *
Unfortunately Brum RO is not accepting online applications using VISA or similar which means from overseas you have to make a postal application with a Bank cheque for G B pounds at horrendous cost! Does anyone know why they have ceased what was by far the best service I have experienced? See the following link on Birmingham History Forum http://forum.birminghamhistory.co.uk/showthread.php?t=25793&highlight=Birmin gham+Register+Office which includes the following extract: "John Yates at the Register Office, his reply states " The forms have been suspended from use pending the redevelopment of the Birmingham City Council website and are not expected to be available for a while". He goes on to say that postal applications are still accepted - forms can be downloaded from the web page or personal applications can still be made."
