Hi All Thank you for the interest I am looking for for the Newnes family in 1901 Census from information I have from the birth of children in 1900 they were living on wheeler St and in 1902 they were living on Lister St in the 1901 Census I have Lister st in Aston. Duddeston, District 34 and Gt Lister St in District 22, 26, 27, and 30. and that Wheeler St is in Aston Manor District 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16. Did I miss something ? There are still a lot of buildings in that area that were standing in 1891/1901. If you tell me which number Wheeler Street you are looking for, I can go take a look as I work not far from there but it won't be for a week or two as I'm working away next week. Please let me know the details. 3. Hi Velda, I have the birth certificate of There Son, Bernard James Edwards who was born 1920 Ladywood, Birmingham On that it say`s that Bernard`s Father was Richard Thomas A master Plasterer...I have looked at the marriage Details you have kindly sent me Velda and the "Cheltenham" district rings a bell with me, but I will have to ask my Friend Ken, who would be the Grandson of Thomas and Alice May about that, but he may know?....I will send for the marriage certificate though..Thank you so much, your help is much appreciated! Looking again at the dates of the marriage details you have sent to me, 1917 would be about right I believe as Bernard was born 1920..I know he had two Brother`s and they may have had another Son before Bernard! It is all if`s and buts at the Moment Velda, but interesting though! Thanks again.... 3. Hi Alec I found a Wheeler Street using google maps which I find invaluable for my family address searches. What works for me - may not for others, is that I flip forward and back the census entry and get the streets/roads before and after the road my rels live on. Then when I use google maps I'm more sure of having the right road when there may be several roads of the same name. And what I really like about google maps is that sometimes they have that cam-thingy where you can see up and down the road in close detail (I know a lot of people hate this system re security issues - quite right too, but its very good for zooming in on the exact house you want) Hope that helps Lesley ________________________________ From: Alec Newnes <brummiepip@msn.com> To: ENG-BLACK-COUNTRY <ENG-BLACK-COUNTRY@rootsweb.com>; STAFFORDSHIRE <STAFFORDSHIRE@rootsweb.com>; ENG-WARKS-BIRMINGHAM <ENG-WARKS-BIRMINGHAM@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, 3 October, 2009 3:17:22 AM Subject: [B'ham] Looking for Wheeler St. in 1891 Census Hi Listers I have not been able to find my great grand parents in 1891, or 1901 census ? 3. Alec Birmingham Library has some good large scale detailed maps of Birmingham circa 1902, but you have to visit them to photocopy the sheets. They clearly show individual property boundaries. Alternatively you can buy slightly smaller scale maps but still very good ones of the same period from Alan Godfrey at http:// www.alangodfreymaps.co.uk/acatalog/Warwickshire__Birmingham_area_.html Dave Carr Devon Hi Listers I have not been able to find my great grand parents in 1891, or 1901 census ? 3. Hi, I can find four Wheeler Streets in B'ham, from an early A-Z. Do you know what district you want?
