    3. Hi Wendy Always best to quote the full reference which is RG12 2420 26 46 (in fact its needed to comply with copyright when quoting from the census) I think your problem is, what is called in the trade "a cock up" by the enumerator <vbg>, the age reads 26 on the census page but I suspect that it should be 10 I thought it may be that George was a brother to Charles but no sign of him with Charles father in 1871, the lack of occupation and his place in the household makes me believe he is a 10 year old son of Charles and Elizabeth Best wishes Nivard Ovington, in Cornwall (UK) Admin for OVINGTON - HAYLOCK - SEYMOUR Lists > I am a little confused (no change there some would say) I have the NEWBOLD > family in 1891 as follows; > > Charles NEWBOLD head 37 Baker born Coventry. > Elizabeth NEWBOLD wife 35 born Worcester > Albert NEWBOLD son 14 born Birmingham > Rose NEWBOLD dau 12 " " > George NEWBOLD son 26 " " > Thomas NEWBOLD son 8 " " > Elizabeth NEWBOLD dau 5 " " > Lucy NEWBOLD dau 1 " " > Frank NEWBOLD son 1 month " " > > Where does George fit in as son age 26 that would mean Elizabeth would > have had him aged 9. 3. I have just found that the maiden name for the wife of my Edwin HEWIN/Hewins was BRITTON. Doe anyone have her or her marriage to Edwin. I found her through a late born son. The earlier children were pre Civil Registration so I am not %100 certain she is their mother. Also there was another Edwin Hewin (m. to Leah) at the same time in the Birmingham and Stafford County area. Does anyone have further on this Edwin who m. Ann? Parents? He seems to disappear but is mentioned in his dau. Emma's marriage in 1844. No sign of either Edwin or Ann in 1850. 3. Hi Heather I have just checked Northfield which the IGI have in WAR on Hugh Wallis's site http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountryEngland.htm#PageTitle and the answer is NO so you can check any of the parishes mentioned via that site. I found this out in my early family history days using the 1988 IGI on fiche at Birmingham Central Library and to look at Kings Norton Registers you had to go to the church and pay £5 to stand for 1 hour in the freezing church under the gaze of the verger examining the actual registers. 3. Hello Helena: There is a William and an Emily who were Home Children and sent over to Canada. Both were sent my Middlemore homes in Birmingham. Do you think Emily could be another name for Emma?100,000 children were sent over to Canada to work on farms. There is also a William James Tranter in WW1. This could be William's son as I know in my research these family names were carried on for generations. I will do more research and get back to you. There are quite a few different sites on these home children. My father, George Frederick Burlton, was also a home child and sent over to Canada. Records and photos taken at the time of admission are availabe for a nominal fee. 3. Hi Reg, I've just checked with my records. I have a photocopy of a burial for 1915 and a baptism at 1912. I assume the Latter Day Saints filmed the books, but I'm not certain. There are nearly 50 LDS Family History Centres in Ontario. Try http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp?PAGE=library_fhc_find.asp Answer the questions and hit search. I would guess they would charge you several dollars to bring a film in. But then you can search for other members of the family, as well. It will probably work out cheaper than a CD.
