    1. [B'ham] Richar Foxall?
    2. Joy Davies
    3. Hi I have found the following family on the *1871* census- Richard _Foxall_ age 43 Sarah - 44 Mary - 23 Harriet - 20 They live at _14 Lawley Street_ Birmingham but come from Bridgnorth Shropshire. There seem to be no other trace of them on any census or in the church records in Bridgnorth. However there are quite a few matches to a family that I am looking for where the daughter Harriet got married in 1870 from the same address. Does anyone know of this '_Foxall_' family? Joy

    3. Posted on behalf of "Zoe Rees" <zoe.rees@BIRMINGHAM.GOV.UK> Wendy B'ham List Admin --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Birmingham City Archives - Notice of Reduced Service The lifts in Central Library are currently experiencing repeated breakdowns. To rectify this the Goods lift will shortly be taken out of service from Monday 11th December until approximately January 27th 2007. This will prevent the City Archives from fetching documents from our basement store in the usual way. Please telephone 0121 303 4217 in advance of your visit, to ascertain whether we will be able to serve your requests. While the lift is out of service we will only be able to retrieve archives that are small and light. We will only be able to do two document collections per day, one before the start of day at 10 am, and one between 2 - 3pm. If you wish to visit us in the morning, please contact us at least one day before your visit so that we can collect your documents. If you wish to visit us in the afternoon, please make sure that we have your request by 12 noon. On Saturdays, only one document collection will be made before we open, so please order the day before. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you. Not all of our archives will be affected by this reduced service, e.g. Parish Registers, Archives of Soho, Hardman Collection will be served as normal. Birmingham City Archives December 2006

    3. Hi, A big thank you to all who sent information on soldiers that were killed in WW1 & who were connected to the areas of Langley & Oldbury. All this information will be included in the book that we hope will be published in the Spring by our local history society. We now have nearly 500 names from various sources with accompanying photos & history of each soldier so the book will be a wonderful memorial to these brave lads. Once again thanks for your help Lynn

If he is aged 26 then he could be the brother of Charles, listed wrongly as Son, or He was the George born 1884 in Aston and has been wrongly aged as 26 instead of 6. I would go for the latter. As a suggestion send for the birth cert from B'Ham and tell them not to send it if the parents aren't Charles and Elizabeth. It is 3Qu 1884 Aston 6D 329. 3. Hello Chris Thank you for this I think that the Edgbaston address is the most likely as it would explain a lot. All Charles siblings that I have found were born in Coventry. George could have been born in Birmingham as I have not located them all. I know Charles widowed mother went to America before 1881, she is in Rhode Island in 1880 with two of her children. In 1900 it states she had 12 children 9 living in the UK. Many thanks Wendy ----- Original Message ----- From: "C.
