    3. Does anyone have any further information on Thomas Leach, Mabel Scholes Fielden, John H Fielden or Henrietta Scholes? I have the following info already, which someone may be able to confirm, add to, or it may help someone else in their search. Mabel (born 1874) was the daughter of John H Fielden and Henrietta Scholes (born 1853). When John died, Henrietta remarried Thomas Leach (unsure of date). I'm not sure if the John H Fielden mentioned is John Haigh Fielden of Inchfield Fold (1845-1877), son of Robert Fielden and Susan Haigh. I have the gravestone details for John Haigh if anyone would like a copy. The reason why I suspect that this is the right John is that his sister would have been Mary Wrigley. Her Husband, Thomas Wrigley, owned Thornhill (my house) where Henrietta and Mabel later lived. I have the following 1881 Census details for Henrietta and Mabel, but haven't been able to find a definate match for Thomas Leach: Dwelling: 58 Alex Rd Census Place: North Meols, Lancashire, England Source: FHL Film 1341897 PRO Ref RG11 Piece 3748 Folio 117 Page 7 Marr Age Sex Birthplace ---------------------------------------------------------------- Henrietta FIELDEN W 28 F Dewsbury, York, England Rel: Head Occ: Annuitant Mabel Scholes FIELDEN 7 F Tedmorden, Lancashire, England (as spelt in the census) Rel: Dau Occ: Scholar Selina MONK U 21 F Pendleton, Lancashire, England Rel: Serv Occ: Gen Serv The 1891 Census shows: Dwelling: Thornhill, Harley Wood, Todmorden Name of Occupier Relation Age Occupation Place of Birth ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------- Thomas Leach Head 45 Agent (Oil & Insurance) Wigan Henrietta Leach Wife 38 Dewsbury Mary Robinson Servant 24 Domestic servant Stockton, Durham Violet McClallan Servant 21 Domestic servant Carnforth, Lancs I have also found the following reference in the Tod Almanack:- 1896 - "Painful death of Mabel, aged 22 years, only daughter of the late Mr John H. Fielden, of Inchfield-fold, Walsden, and step-daughter of Mr Thomas Leach of Thorn Hill, Harley Wood, Todmorden." I don't know what caused the painful death, I guess I will have to get her death certificate to find that out. Kind regards Andrea.
