    3. Hi Esther, There are very few FIRTHS in Todmorden in the early days. I have extracted the following from the Church registers. I know it is before the time you are looking at, but if you keep them they may come in useful later. There are no TONKISS names. MARRIAGES AT ST. MARY'S, TODMORDEN 1781 - 1837 Henry FIRTH of Halifax Parish married Betty BARKER 8/6/1802. Neither able to sign name. Witnesses were John Ratcliff and John Stansfield. Mary FIRTH and John CROSSLEY married 16/11/1801. Neither able to sign name. Witnesses James Dawson and John Atkinson. Sarah FIRTH and Charles EASTWOOD married 17/3/1803. Sarah unable to sign name. Witnesses were Robert Greenwood and William Barker. Hannah FIRTH and James HARDMAN married 20/8/1815. BAPTISMS AT ST. MARY'S, TODMORDEN. 1781 - 1812 Abraham, son of Henry and Betty FIRTH of Swineshead Clough. Baptised 29/5/1803 Betty and Mary, daughters of Henry and Betty FIRTH of Swineshead Clough. Baptised 31/3/1805 Sally, daughter of Henry and Betty FIRTH of Swineshead Clough. Baptised 8/11/1807 Maria, daughter of Henry and Betty FIRTH of Swineshead Clough. Baptised 12/4/1811 Mary, bastard daughter of Ann FIRTH of Cliviger, supposed father Robert Horth of Bury. Baptised 19/1/1789 BURIALS AT ST. MARY'S TODMORDEN 1781 - 1812 John, son of Henry and Betty FIRTH of Swineshead Clough. Buried 25/2/1810 Betty, daughter of Henry and Betty FIRTH of Swineshead Clough.
