    3. Linda, Many thanks for that kindness. I will now try to see if and where they link with my son-in-law's BARKER line which is through Elizabeth (bo.1840/1) the dau. of William (a carter) and Susan(?) of Tod. BTW I managed to borrow "John Fielden's Todmorden", through the Inter-Library Loan scheme. I have found it a well researched study as well as a fascinating read.It shows what a hot-bed of politics Tod. was. Out of all proportion to its size. The Maps and Photos also help to give an understanding of its history and topography. The account of Working Class Life and Culture is among the best I have studied. The book has tended to convince me that any linkage between John FIELDEN M.P. and James FIELDEN(bo. c.1842/3), choirmaster at St. Mary's and engine turner, is likely to have been remote despite James, in 1881, living at 4 Dobroyd. Dobroyd Castle built by John FIELDEN a descendant of the Honest John.
