Hello all "A History of Todmorden" ISBN 1-85825-057-9 will check availability in local book stores and post results here. Perhaps copies of earlier book "The Fielden Trail" Jim Jarratt may be still available. ISBN 1-870071-15-8 Book is really a walking book detailing points of interest in the area connected to the Fieldens, and contains a wealth of history on the family and the town. There is a Quaker Burial ground on the hill just above the Unitarian Church (SHOEBROAD QUAKER BURIAL GROUND)but until recently Quakers were buried in unmarked graves so there is not a lot to see. There are though apparently 24 Quaker Fieldens buried here. Joshua Fielden (I) of Bottomley buried here 21/4/1693 followed by successive Joshuas. The last being 'Honest John's' father. Joshua Fielden (IV) of Edge End and later Waterside buried April 1811. Last Fielden buried here was Joshua's youngest surviving daughter, Salley Fielden. Died Waterside 18/9/1859 (79). Mary Fielden's aunt. Also buried here are John and Tamar Fielden of Todmorden Hall. Samuel and Joshua Fielden (2 of brothers to build Units. church) are buried just outside the church. John Fielden J.P. (3rd brother) is buried in Grinston Park near Leeds. Jack (Todmorden)
