In February 1890, my Gt Grandfather, John MOORCOCK , placed a missing Friends notice in a New Zealand News paper. "Thomas Archibald Moorcock, please communicate with John Moorcock Hastwell, Forty Mile Bush, New Zealand." (This was in the Wairarapa, North Island .) After first seeing that notice some years ago, and not finding any sign in of Thomas here in N.Z., i.e. Electoral Rolls, Marriage, Death Indexes, etc. Nothing on the Find My Past Passenger List. I assumed he, Thomas, had not arrived in New zealand. However, today I found him on N.Z. Papers Past. He shows as a passenger Feb. 3rd., 1884, arriving on the Doric, from London. I think it means he disembarked, at Auckland, but I need to look into that . I now have Thomas A. Moorcock, as an infant in 1851 , his Father was Archibald, Mother Isabella, living Wokingham, Berkshire, through all census, until 1881, he is a Commercial Traveller, married to Annie Sargeant with a child, Archibald John , living Lambeth, which I see is London. I will put this on the Berkshire Site, but, as the above John Moorcock was born Chertsey, I wondered if more of the family moved to Surrey , or spent time there, for John to have known him, or were they were related. Does this family show in the Family Tree of someone out there ?
