Happy New Year! Here is one that has me stumped! James WICKS (WEEKS) (WIX) What I know is that he was a groom and that he died March 21, 1839 in Handcross Alley, Croydon. He married Fanny (Mary) Chitty on August 25, 1805 at St Leonards, Stretham. He had one daughter, Mary Ann Brasier Wicks christened August 29, 1817 at John the Baptist in Croydon. There may have been another son, James William, christened May 31, 1807 at John the Baptist and another daughter, Sarah, born about 1803. His wife, Mary, was the daughter of Edward Chitty and Mary Brasier who resided in Croydon. There is a James WIX in the index of the 1811 census compiled by the East Surry FHS, a groom, living in Old Town with two males and one female in residence. I did find one christening possibility in Crowhurst on April 19, 1770. That would make him 35 at the time of his wedding. I would be grateful for any suggestions or thoughts! Bob
