I may be out of line, here, in asking for help with my troublesome lack of info, but I would appreciate it if anyone knows of a family named WEATHERS in your area. My ancestors are found in Surry County, VIRGINIA, as early as 1719 with the purchase of his first parcel of land. He was of Southwarke Parish (VIRGINIA) at that time. The parish records have been destroyed or lost which is my roadblock. I’ve read that sometimes those from England settled in the same county name as left in England so I’m really looking for that proverbial needle. My ancestor is Thomas Weathers who married Lydia (maiden name unknown), probably about 1719 or 20. Any info would be so very much appreciated. Thank you sincerely, Sarah Withers Keesee swkeesee@gmail.com Salisbury, North Carolina, USA
Sarah, Have your contacted the Tidewater Geneological Society? http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~vatgs/ Another possible source is the Colonial Williamsburg Research Library - part of the Foundation.
