    3. John William HOOPER (1) was a coach plater by trade and married Elizabeth COPP. John and Elizabeth had a son, John William HOOPER (2) on 6 April 1838 in Lambeth. According to the 1861 Census, John had a wife by the name of Ann, also born Lambeth, and they lived at 20 Temple St. John was a Brass Founder by trade. Also on the Census was their son.... John William HOOPER (3). The 1861 census is the only census they would be on as a family as they swam to Victoria, Australia about 1865. I have John (2)'s death certificate that states his wife was Ann (nee) SULLIVAN and they married in London about 1857/58 in Lambeth. I have searched freeBDM for this marriage and came up with nothing. I even searched from 1850 until 1865. The other problem is that I have trouble finding the birth of their son (3) about 1858/59. Again, I have searched freebdm to no avail. I've started looking at what the Archives has for resources and the mind is boggling. Does anyone know if there are other resources, such as newspapers, that I can search from Australia online in the hopes of finding out anything at all that might confirm the marriage or birth? 3. Hi Jackie The marriage of JWH(2) was to Ann FRASER (not SULLIVAN) and took place on 21 January 1861 at St Mary, Newington. Ancestry have the image from the parish register: if you don't have the appropriate subscription I can send you the image off list. As it looks like his parents were not married when JWH(3) was born, it is probable that he was not registered under that name. I can't see a John William FRASER registered around the right time either, but I will keep digging. Best wishes Caroline John William HOOPER (1) was a coach plater by trade and married Elizabeth COPP. John and Elizabeth had a son, John William HOOPER (2) on 6 April 1838 in Lambeth.
