Hello. My sincerest thanks to all those members of the Surrey mailing list who have helped me in my search for a WW1 memorial which includes the name of my uncle, Pte. George Stephen Holland DCM on it. I still intend to press owners of the Lambeth WW1 memorial for his name to be added to their memorial. I am inspired to do so because earlier this year in Australia, that is exactly what happened , when the name of a man who had been killed in WW2 , but whose name was not included on the local memorial when it was put up, was finally added..Over the years members of his family had insisted that his name should be added and eventually, although it was by now over 60 years late, it finally was added.
