    3. I think that he would be recorded in the Regimental Chapel which is a Church at the top of Guildford High Street Secondly I would expect to find his name on the War Memorials where his wife, his parents and his siblings lived in the post war period and perhaps in the parish where he lived, his school and his place of work. Duplicated entries are very frequent What I can not suggest is how you can establish if his name appears as you live in Australia but you could try: Queen's Royal Surrey Regiment Museum, Clandon Park, Guildford, GU4 7RQ Tel: 01483 223419 Email: qrsregimentalmuseum@btconnect.com Web: www.queensroyalsurreys.org.uk Curator: Ian Chatfield Or their website http://www.queensroyalsurreys.org.uk/ Good luck Michael Allbrook -----Original Message----- From: eng-surrey-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:eng-surrey-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of patrick holland Sent: 05 November 2009 10:40 To: eng-surrey@rootsweb.com Subject: [SRY] Surrey WW1 and WW2 War Memorials Hello, I recently sent a list of Surrey WW1 and WW2 memorials which I found and thought would be of interest to some of our members. http://www.windowonwoking.org.uk/sites/goldsworthparkcommunityassociation/me morialsworldwar1andtwo/surreywarmemorialspagee I looked at all the WW1 memorials for a mention of my uncle, Pte. George Stephen Holland DCM who was born in Lambeth and served in the 6th. Bn. Queens ( Royal West Surrey Regiment.) , whose parents , at the time of his death, lived in south Lambeth, but he is not listed on any of the Surrey WW1 memorials I looked at. although he is mentioned on the Commonwealth War Graves Commision (CWGC) , Debt of Honour, http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=271305 Can any of our members suggest where I could find a mention of him on a Surrey , WW1 memorial and if he is not listed on any memorial, is it possible to rectify the unfortunate omission Thank You. Patrick Holland . Perth, Western Australia.
