Sadly, you are right about the lack of space at Heilly Station cemetery, which following the death of 20,000 British troops in just one day on the first day of the battle of the Somme , resulted in multiple burials. My uncle was wounded at Oviliers, on the 1st. July 1916. He died 4 days later at the 36th Casualty Clearing Station at Heilly. In a photo, I have taken of his gravestone at Heilly , one can see several other gravestones nearby which carry more than one type of regimental badges indicating that several men are buried in that grave.
