In addition to the below: George Henry Laws, chr. 11 Sept 1835, St. Geo. the Martyr, Southwark (father, George; mother, Mary Ann) Again, no certainty this is your man. Seems even less likely than the below anyway. M -----Original Message----- Don't know if he is your fellow, but I found the following on LDS Family Search: Frank Lawes, b. 10 mar 1870 Wimbledon, Surrey. Father, George Henry Lawes; Mother, Mary. -----Original Message----- From: eng-surrey-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:eng-surrey-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of John P Laws Sent: Monday, November 09, 2009 7:49 PM To: eng-surrey@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [SRY] Parish Locator + Have you seen any LAWS Hi John It runs perfectly well for me though I do keep it in a Folder By the way has anyone come across a Frank LAWS Bn 1870 died 1898 Godstone SRY 3Q 28 2a Or George Henry LAWS bn 1832 died 1898 Godstone SRY 1Q 2a 148 We have 58,999 LAW,LAWES,LAWS but can't find a home for theses two John P Laws.
Thanks Michael Being a one-namer, means that sometimes one goes off on wild-goose chases, in my own line John LAWs & Mary ??? were at Walworth Surrey (Near Elephant & Castle, Old Kent Road etc) in the late 1790's early 1800's, this area was pretty newly developed so where did they originate one can only guess.
