    3. I have checked the Index mentioned and the name George Stephen Holland does not appear. As mentioned before these memorials were often raised by private subscription and it was up to the relatives to ask for the name to be added. Lambeth at this time was Metropolitan Surrey (outer London). Whereas this index is for rural Surrey. Perhaps Lambeth Local Studies Library may be able to give more guidance to you. If I had a copy of MS28 I would check for this single entry for you but regrettably I don't. Maybe someone else will be able to do the lookup for you as it's just the one name you're after. I looked at all the WW1 memorials for a mention of my uncle, Pte. George Stephen Holland DCM who was born in Lambeth and served in the 6th. Bn. Queens ( Royal West Surrey Regiment.) , whose parents , at the time of his death, lived in south Lambeth, but he is not listed on any of the Surrey WW1 memorials I looked at. although he is mentioned on the Commonwealth War Graves Commision (CWGC) , Debt of Honour,
