For several years I have been responding to this invitation to post with a request for a connection between the WICKS, BRASIER and RUSSELL families. Santa came early this year and the connection is no made! Thanks, Santa and Surrey listers! My invitation to dinner (or wish) this year is for James WICKS who died at 69 as a Groom and with asthma in Croydon 21 March, 1839. He wed Mary CHITTY (CHITLEY) in Streatham 25 August, 1805. The only known child was Mary christened in Croydon 29 August, 1817. Other possible children are James William of 1807 and Sarah of 1803, both in Croydon. I would probably deliver my invitation to Crowhurst as this seems the likely place of birth in 1770 but there are quite a number of James WICKS christened in Surrey between 1765 and 1775, as listed in the IGI. If anyone comes across this fellow, tell him that a seat at the table is being held for him. And have a Happy Holiday Season! Bob
