Hello James Rayner born 1797 married Sophia (french) came out of the army and lived and worked as a servant in Addiscomb Croydon where he was in the 1851 census living in Cherry Orchard Lane Croydon Surrey. Not in the 1861 that I can find and he could have returned to Braintree Essex where his daughter was living. Looking for his death date. Any help gratefully received.
