    3. Chris, Many thanks for the reply.  I did get a copy od Cyril's will through the Family Court Service near Chancery Lane.  It was not helpful.  He bequeathed everything to his widow. His widow's will i just as unhelpful.  It looks s if I mst purchase more certificates.  I can also try to trace the best man or named friends at the wedding of C Eric Cyril - as reported in the local paper. However, I was put onto a great trade magazine - "The British Clayworker" - inwhich there was an obit for Cyril Whittington and his photograph.  He was the spitting image of a first cousin of mine; it was eerie seeing the close likeness.  The obit was excellant, with a summary of the business, and a statement that it had been established in 1831.  Richard  Brown Bromley, Kent U.K.  ------------------------------ Message: 5 Date: Sat, 5 Dec 2009 08:39:10 -0000 From: "Chris Townsend" <chris@johntownsend.demon.co.uk> Subject: Re: [SRY] My Christmas Wish - BROWN of Reigate Hello Richard, I'd apply for one or two more certificates, to give you more recent names and addresses to pursue.  As there was a Brickmaking business, did Cyril Whittington BROWN leave a will? I have quite a lot of information - I met the grandson of the Brickyard manager and he has helped with a good deal of information, but there are still so many questions left unanswered. Why did the business decline? Do any of the business records survive? (none at Woking or Redhill) They certainly made lots of bricks - enough for a HUGE Brickwall :-))
