Hi Pat, I wonder. My NIGHTINGALE connection is from Reigate. Some years ago, I was in touch with a Nightingale researcher. She advised me that all of the Reigate Nightingales stem from a single family. My Nightingales were builders with a house at the bottom of Lesborne Road, close to a bus garage. Their name was painted on the flank wall of the house. By the time I got around to photographing it, the advert had been painted out!! Once I found the death of an Eric Cyril BROWN up North - right age. I wrote to the family, but it was the wrong one!! Fate can be really cruel sometimes. I have a good number of relatives on my paternal side in Alberta. WALKER. There is a great book about Redawater, Alberta families, and there are good accounts of Leonard Arther WALKER and family in the book. Does any of this ring bells? In fact one of my BROWN's is named Cyril and he was born 1906 in Westcott ,Surrey. My grandmother was a NIGHTINGALE also born Westcott , Surrey in 1894. Perhaps we will find a connection someday but in the meantime happy hunting and Happy Holidays.
