And have you checked all the other BOEVE and BOEVEY wills, in case she got a legacy from an aunt or cousin who might have been kind enough to be a bit more specific about her parentage? The mid 17th century is notoriously tricky for those fortunate enough to get back that far. The so-called "commonwealth gap" in records actually lasted much longer than the Commonwealth itself, as the new-fangled civil registration rules which Cromwell introduced during the Protectorate were not universally adhered to and many of the records were destroyed after the Restoration.
