Hi Stephen Victor Oddy of Hillarys, WA and other COE researchers. Your COE name rings a bell with me. My great-great-great-grandmother was Mary COE born around 1782 place still not confirmed. Mary married William WILKINS. who was baptised 26 Sep 1779 at Spalding, Lincs, on 14 Oct 1802, place still not confirmed. Their daughter Mahala WILKINS was baptised 3 Mar 1816, in Long Sutton, Lincs. Mahala married James MORRISS, my great-great-grandparents, and they emigrated to South Australia in 1855, where I was born. I lived in WA for 30 years, and remember Hillarys as a new northern beach suburb of Perth. I suspect the COE name to have had Huguenot origins and was probably anglicised from DE CAUX. I have been looking for Mary COE's origins for many years.
