Good Morning David, I have looked at your sample scan from the Surrey Map. It is excellent and I am looking forward to using the completed map. I have just one suggestion - Is it possible to create an index of the main towns - linked to the map by Hyperlinks? In the index, provide a list of farms and other notable features in alphabetical order? This would probably be a huge task - too time consuming. What prompted this idea is my interest in my ancestors' home near Reigate - it was a farm, now redeveloped as Council and Private homes. With best wishes Richard Brown Bromley, Kent U.K. ------------------------------ Message: 7 Date: Thu, 24 Dec 2009 19:26:39 +1030 From: David Hale <dwhale@internode.on.net> Subject: [SRY] MAPCO Christmas Thanks & Feedback Request To: eng-surrey@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <8did3k$pr0tq@ipmail03.adl2.internode.on.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed Hello Listers. I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support of the MAPCO website throughout 2009, and to wish you the very best for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I look forward to providing you with more high quality online maps in 2010. I have displayed a summary of new maps and updates from 2009 on the News page. Do take a look at what has been achieved throughout the year: http://archivemaps.com/mapco/news.htm#latest One of the most significant additions to the site... and one that I am particularly proud of!... is the 1868 map of London: Map Of London 1868, By Edward Weller, F.R.G.S. http://london1868.com Do take a look. Enjoy! I also have a request... I would be very interested in knowing what maps listers would like to see displayed on the MAPCO website in 2010. Where are the gaps? What would be of greatest benefit? Your thoughts and feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Best wishes for a wonderful Christmas and New Year, >From David.
