    3. Hi Janet, Could it be Summerfold House, which lies just to the North of Ewhurst, on the edge of Hurt Wood, close to Ewhurst windmill. There is also a Winterfold House. Good luck. Robin Morris. Bookham. -----Original Message----- From: eng-surrey-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:eng-surrey-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of ji.kelsey@xtra.co.nz Sent: 15 December 2009 08:58 To: eng-surrey@rootsweb.com Subject: [SRY] SUMMERFIELD, EWHURST Hi everyone, I have a photo of my husband's grandfather, ALAN KELSEY, who was a carpenter, outside a large old Elizabethan style house, with two of his workmates (Alan is holding his saw in one hand). On the back of the photo is written 'Summerfield, Ewhurst', but I can't find anything out about that house via google. Can anyone tell me if it still exists, or where it was. 3. Oh yes, the Winterfold Estate. Owned by Prince Carol of Romania sometime after WW2. It was searched assiduously after the Great Train Robbery in the early 60s Michael Allbrook -----Original Message----- From: eng-surrey-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:eng-surrey-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Robin Morris Sent: 15 December 2009 12:59 To: eng-surrey@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [SRY] SUMMERFIELD, EWHURST Hi Janet, Could it be Summerfold House, which lies just to the North of Ewhurst, on the edge of Hurt Wood, close to Ewhurst windmill.
