With 5 out of 6 people complete with ginger hair and freckles no one would doubt that their name aint Doyle. Right? My thirteen certs for this address but not that name the Christian names are right the ages are correct and the house number and the residents lived there from 1901 to 1963 every one of the residents were all related to me but my name has never been Doyle. and believe me it is not Ancestry's fault The head of family was discharged from two stints in the Army and I have both lots of records..squeaky clean. I have no idea why Josi
Hi Josi No check was carried out on the occupants of any household in any census the task would be enormous and take far to long Apart from that the electoral roll would only contain certain members of society who were eligible to vote The only likelihood of a false statement being found out is if the enumerator knew them personally or they named themselves something obviously false If they were found to have made a false statement they would be liable to a fine If you have a household in the right address and the details nearly match I would say there is a good chance they were yours, people were very distrusting of authority and suspected they had other motives for carrying out the census than a head count Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > was any check made re the census to check who is whom? > is it possible that you could enter > "The red baron "and follow with a full crew as family? > do they use for reference the electorol roll > > my lot...you knew I was coming to that.................. > > With 5 out of 6 people complete with ginger hair and freckles > no one would doubt that their name aint Doyle.
